Dismantling of fan motor Rosenberg

Remove the cooling fan cover at non drive end (NDE) (3 to 6 nuts)

 Remove the bolt on the cooling fan (NDE)

 Remove the cooling fan’s impeller

 Remove the bolts (4 numbers) on the bracket (NDE)

 Remove NDE bracket

 Remove the bolts (4 numbers) on the drive end (DE) bracket

 Pull the motor shaft at DE to remove the bracket, rotor and bearings out of the motor

case

 Separate the drive end (DE) bracket and rotor

 Remove oil seal and pre-load washer

 Remove the bearings by using bearing puller (When necessary)

Note:

Care must be exercised in dismantling & re- assembling. Carelessness can cause

 Replace new bearings to the rotor

 Replace gaskets and oil seal

 A reversal of the above procedures to re-assembling the motor

 Tighten all fixing screws evenly

 Rotate the shaft to ensure freedom

 If the shaft locked or stiff, loosen the bracket bolts then re-tighten them

Note:

 Never tighten the bolts individually

 Always replace gaskets and oil seals

 Alignment is not required when changing bearings
